Living a Low-Tox Life

We are surrounded by all kinds of do's and dont's as we go through life. There are opinions about everything and then opinions on those opinions!

I strive to live a low-tox lifestyle as best as I can.  It is important to me that my everyday life has minimal exposure to toxins and harmful chemicals and that I am habitually making conscious and informed decisions about the products I use!

So now you know my goal, but remember all that opinionated noise I was talking about above? Well it's so easy for all of that noise to drown out the good information about how to actually live the life I am wanting to.

It takes some patience and effort to really find products and causes that help me achieve a low-tox life and like with anything else, it also takes some trial and error. Just because I want a product to be in line with these goals doesn't mean that I will use it if I just flat out don't like it..both things must mutually exist for it to really vibe in my life!

So while I love sharing my favorite finds with you often, it's also going to take some trial and error on your part to really find what works for you and your likes! Here are some ways you can start your low-tox adventure and different ideas of how to explore products and activities of this kind:

1. Choosing Organic and Natural Products

This one is probably the most common thought when someone thinks of living a low-tox lifestyle. By choosing organic foods and products, you are supporting this effort by consuming things that have fewer synthetic chemicals and additives! This is actually a very easy way to start your journey, as there are TONS of options on the market!

2. Eco Friendly Cleaning

It's not only about what you eat or use on your body that impacts the toxins you are exposed to. What we use to clean our houses and environments have a huge impact. Choosing to use environmentally friendly and non-toxic cleaning products will help you be successful.

3. Mindful Consumption

Another common theme in the world is over consumption. We are told we need more, bigger, and better all of the time. This leads to so much waste! Be mindful in what you buy and try to choose products with minimal packaging.

4. Reducing Plastic

Minimizing the use of single use plastics helps reduce waste and keeps our environment healthy! Easy goal? Opt for a fun reusable water bottle instead of having disposable bottled waters in your fridge.

5. Practice Sustainable Living

If you want to really make a bigger impact on the world around you, start composting and recycling to reduce waste. Consider starting a garden of your own or teaming up with neighbors and friends to maintain one.
