Reboot Guide: a Gentle Gut Detox

Full honesty, I was a little freaked out when I saw the word REBOOT- thinking I would be rebooting my toilet if you know what I mean. After reading through the ingredients my concerns were completely put at ease. Many of the herbs I have been using for years to support my body’s detoxification and healing are in it!

Reboot+ is an easy system to use, but for many, changing our diets for a few days can feel overwhelming to the point that most of us will put it off, waiting for the “right” time, which tends to be never. This is the part I want to make easier for you!!! This will be my third time doing this reset and I have a meal plan that is easy to follow and won't break the bank. 

Before I give you the approved recipes, here are the foods to enjoy and avoid: 

ENJOY
Vegetables: broccoli, cauliflower, kale, cabbage, Brussels sprouts, red and green lettuce, romaine, spinach, endives, artichokes, dandelion frees, arugula, beets, collard greens, celery, parsley, carrots, onions, yams/sweet potatoes, mushrooms, bok choy.

Fruits: apples, pears, raspberries, acai, blueberries, blackberries, grapefruits, kiwis, lemons, pomegranate, bananas, tomatoes.

Legumes: lentils, peas, chickpeas/hummus, beans (except refried beans).

Nuts & Seeds: hemp, flax, pumpkin & sunflower seeds, almonds, walnuts, cashews, nut butters (avoid peanuts).

Oils/Fats: coconut oil, olive oil, avocados, coconut meat.

Herbal Teas: chamomile, mint, rooibos, ginger, dandelion root, hibiscus.

Milks: almond, coconut, hemp, or rice (all unsweetened).

 

AVOID
Alcohol & Caffeine

Sweeteners: sugar, foods with refined sugars (especially soda), cane sugar/juice, corn syrup, maple syrup, honey, artificial and/or added sweeteners (stevia is permitted).

Processed Foods: fast food, packaged food.

Dairy: milk cheese, cottage cheese, cream cheese, sour cream, yogurt, ice cream, butter.

All animal products: meat, eggs, fish.

Soy Products: tempeh, tofu, soy milk.

Oils: vegetable oil, canola oil, soybean oil, anything partially hydrogenated.

Fruits: fruit juices, spreads/preserves with added sugar.

Grains: rice, quinoa, wheat, oats, barley, pasta, bread, cereal, tortillas, oatmeal, granola.

WHAT'S NEXT

Now that you have the deets on this easy to use reboot+, all that's left is to prep your food! Here are some suggestions you can use and modify that are reboot approved:

LUNCH/SNACKS

Mixed Nuts (NO PEANUTS), and make sure they are vegetable oil/sugar free.

Apples + Almond/Cashew Butter.

Sliced cucumber, bell pepper, carrots, cherry tomatoes, celery + Hummus

Roasted cauliflower, broccoli, and chickpeas.

Amy's Organic Split Pea, Golden Lentil, Lentil Vegetable Soups (these are the easy button).

Baked Yams with nut butter, banana, and blueberries.

Chia pudding- 2 tablespoon chia seeds + ½ C almond milk or other approved milk. Combine and refrigerate for at least 2 hours.

Salads with balsamic dressing or any other approved dressing.

DAY 1-BREAKFAST: Pink Power Detox Smoothie
