Triggers
Have you ever been triggered? OF COURSE YOU HAVE!
I get asked this question weekly: “how do I work through triggers?”
So let me share my thoughts on this!
Triggers are a beautiful opportunity for us to see where we need to heal. Our triggers are no one else’s responsibility but our own! Here are a few steps I personally use when I feel triggered!
Be aware. Notice when you feel triggered. Don’t shame yourself, don’t react, just witness.
Grab a journal, your phone or however you prefer to write. Write down what happened and try to trace it back to the origin. Where is this trigger coming from? Is it because your soul feels truth in what came up? Is it because of something someone told you when you were six years old? Where is this trigger stemming from?
Once you have the origin, let’s change the story. You no longer need to give your power away to this story. Re-write your story, change the belief, give your inner child a huge hug, whatever it is!
Repeat the new story as often as you need. Give yourself evidence as to why that trigger is no longer true.
Healing your triggers is one of the most powerful things you can do. Someone could walk up to you, tell you that you are ugly, and it won’t phase you. Why? Because that is not a belief you hold therefore, you don’t give that belief power. Being responsible for your triggers and being willing to look at them and heal them is going to set you free.
And onto the makeup….
I love a good neutral look when wearing a fun bold outfit! This shadow combo has been one of my favorites to date and it’s SO EASY to throw the colors together, even for a beginner!
